I took the sculpture walk through the the forest, certainly worth a look.






Then I started taking photos of just the bark on the various trees







And then back to the wooden sculptures,








There was another one of those transferablepainted stones

so I took this is st. one and put it below the sign at the northern end of the St James walkway in the Lewis Pass.


Loved the no paint bare shiney metal which was clear lacquered.

I walked up Conical Hill mid afternoon, below is the sun lite tree roots track





I took a different way down back to the village, through lovely scenery by the golf course.




Heading north through The Lewis Pass with changing weather,
Christchurch sculptor Andrew Lyons was commissioned to make all the carvings
from one giant Redwood tree in Hanmer that had to be removed.

Well that’s the end of this particular tiki tour...but with only one night at home we take off once more showing Christines sister Kath and her husband Jim, refugees from Whangaparoa, in the far traffic gridlocked north.
