New Brighton has a really nice Library building and the Pier behind is great too!

North New Brighton has a great mountain bike park with lots of trails,
One of the busking pitches has this terrific mural!

Yes the face of Christchurch has changed and will continue too,
Below is another mural still being worked on,

North New Brighton has a great mountain bike park with lots of trails,
mostly through the wooded area next to the beach
I spend a morning biking some of the trails

Coming along this beach (in this photo) are two horse riders....

Without changing my position I’ve zoomed in with my new Powershot camera.

Not so sharp but still pretty impressive!

Back in Christchurch some random shots that caught my eye!

This one is in Cranmer square

Theses next series of shots are taken at the old Arts centre Buildings.

We are indeed lucky that these were saved
and are a real gem for the heritage of buildings in Chch

This the temporary replacement for the Cathedral,
called the “Cardboard Cathedral”
As the roof structure is indeed cardboard.
One of the busking pitches has this terrific mural!
Yes the face of Christchurch has changed and will continue too,
for some time yet, as their is still a lot of vacant waste ground in the inner city!

New Regent Street where the trams used to go and still do,
make a loop around the city and through the Square.
Below is another mural still being worked on,
both ends have the preliminary sketches on all ready to go

This mural is taking some time...and so, so life like!

The Riverside food hall...yet again I partook!

A Cashel street Penguin...busking away...but the cap simply didn’t fit

Graham Bennett used to live in Nelson, this was a retrospective of his work,

Nice to see his development over time!

While in Chch the temperatures where 35deg plus ....
I decided to cool off in the evening by riding my unicycle around Hagley Park.
And came across Sugra another juggler and unicyclist.
We had a great chat in the shade over a couple of bottles of cold pear cider!
Next I head north in the heat towards Hanmer stopping to let the bus radiator cool as its temp gauge
was higher than normal heading into a very hot and strong legendary Nor Wester.
That’s this blog all done and dusted...onwards towards Hanmer and home!
Stay safe, have fun, and be creative.

ReplyDeleteI attended the old uni

Good to see him
Still on show
Off to hit
The pillow
The poems
Won't let me go!
